At Ga\u00efa Ecolodge, guests enjoy a 3-hectare private pond in the heart of an unspoilt 13-hectare estate in Douville<\/a>, near Bergerac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pond is stocked with carp, roach and black bass. Fishing is strictly No Kill, with no fishing licence required, out of respect for the fish and the tranquillity of the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chalets, mobile homes and camping pitches let you stay close to the water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the anglers settle in on the banks, their companions can enjoy the swimming pool<\/a>, the relaxation areas and the many activities on offer at Ga\u00efa Ecolodge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 3-hectare private fishing pond in the Dordogne<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ga\u00efa Ecolodge’s pond covers 3 hectares at the heart of a 13-hectare natural estate. Its banks offer plenty of spots where anglers can set up, close to their accommodation or pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pond is reserved exclusively for guests staying on the estate. No outside anglers have access. This limited use helps keep the site peaceful and lets you fish in a serene atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From early morning, the reflections on the water, the birds and the greenery create a wonderfully relaxing setting. Ga\u00efa Ecolodge’s pond is mainly home to several varieties of carp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few roach and black bass are also present, but carp remains the pond’s signature fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common carp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Common carp a<\/a>re among the most sought-after catches in the pond. Fishing for them takes patience, observation and a good knowledge of the swims. Beginners and experienced carp anglers alike can try their luck from the banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koi carp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Easily recognised by its colours, the koi carp adds a special touch to the pond’s fish population. Like every fish caught at Ga\u00efa Ecolodge, it must be handled with care and returned to the water quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grass carp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Grass carp are also found in the pond. This powerful, wary fish can give anglers a real thrill, but every catch is unpredictable and must be returned to the water with the utmost care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
